St. Louis Wedding, Part 2

See story below.

St. Louis Wedding

Labor Day Weekend, Lajunta and I traveled to St. Louis for the wedding of Erin Kryger and Jeff Dunn. Several years ago, Erin chose us for her high school senior portraits, and we have since photographed her siblings and family. We were excited when she called and asked if we could photograph her wedding.
The wedding was held at the Concordia Lutheran Church. Following the ceremony, we traveled to Forest Park for a few outdoor photos. It was a beautiful location. Then if was off to the reception.
What a surprise! The reception was on the 30th floor of a building in downtown St. Louis, at The Lawyers Club. Large windows on all four sides gave us the opportunity to view St. Louis from an angle I'd never seen before (well, years ago we did go up in the arch, that was close). You could even see inside the new Busch Stadium.
Erin, Jeff, and their families were great to work with. That always makes my job so much easier! The food was great. Thank You for inviting us to be a part of this exciting day of your life!!!

A Rock and Roll Legend!!!

Photo Caption: I watched as Rock and Roll Legend Bill Medley chose this year's Miss Carroll County "Miss Photogenic" winners.

Each year, we photograph the local girls for the annual Miss Carroll County Pageant. One girl in the junior division, and one in the senior division, is awarded “Miss Photogenic”. The award winner is chosen by someone who views the official pageant photos, and selects the girl they believe is most photogenic of the group. This year, the judge for the contest was rock and roll legend Bill Medley. In the l960’s, Medley joined with Bobby Hatfield to form what would become “The Righteous Brothers”. Their hits included “You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin” and “Unchained Melody“. In March 2003, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

As well as having a career with The Righteous Brothers, Bill Medley has had a successful career as a solo artist. He has recorded 14 albums including the Grammy award winning theme song to "Dirty Dancing".

Mr. Medley is currently performing at the Dick Clark American Bandstand Theater in Branson, Missouri.

On Thursday evening, August 31, I traveled to the theater where I met Mr. Medley before his show. It was very difficult for him to choose the winner. After several minutes, he made his choices.

A big "Thank You" to Mr. Medley for taking time out from his busy schedule to judge the photos.

Winners will be announced at the pageant on Wednesday night, September 6th!.
